Sometimes you find yourself face-to-face with situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but laugh. It's like your brain tries to understand the sheer magnitude of unadulterated absurdity and just throws its hands up, opting for amusement as a coping mechanism.

But then, you realize that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs into a wistful, melancholic sound.

In the end, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You question about the purpose of it all. Was this intended to be funny?

Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Dreadful Day Ever

It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't figure it to look presentable. As I was running out the door, I stumbled and landed all over the carpet. To make matters worse, I was totally running behind for a very important appointment.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
